Toujours en vie, et toujours Triumphant triomphant ! Après sa victoire à Leicester, on retrouve notre camarade encore une fois sur la plus haute marche du podium, à l’issue de la 2ème manche du championnat britannique de dirt-track organisée par la DTRA à Coventry. Apparemment finir la course était déjà une prouesse en soi, vu le nombre d’accidents qu’il y a eu. Mais il faut croire que sa Rickman Metisse version flat-track n’a pas été préparée n’importe comment… Beau boulot l’Atelier Chatokhine !
Voici ce que nous dit la petite carte postale du pilote cette fois-ci :
« Supers moments une fois de plus à Coventry, pour la seconde manche du championnat DTRA, avec une piste certes difficile mais une ambiance toujours aussi chanmée, et de nouveau de bons résultats !
Un grand merci à toute l’équipe de l’organisation et aux spectateurs venus nous encourager, et une pensée aux pilotes qui ont chuté et se sont blessés durant le week-end.
De mon coté j’y ai survécu, mais la course était rude !

« For the second round of the 2014 season Frank Chatokhine had again really good times with all DTRA circus participants even if track grip was a uneasy to handle. Despite many heavy crashes in many series Frank kept confident and took the top spot again ahead of local rider Paul Harrison. So far this season Frank Chatokhine seems unstoppable in the Vintage class.
The sunny weather was just perfect for riders and spectators who enjoyed the great facilities of Conventry Stadium in the heart of the UK.
For the second Dirt Track championship race Frank Chatokhine missed his Ruby team mate Dimitri Coste who was not able to join. Luckily Geoff Cain from Co-Built entered the Vintage Class on Dimitri’s BSA. It was great to see new riders entering the Vintage Class. This makes the championship even more interesting !
« This new race track was not easy as the grip was really different from what I knew from Leicester and Rye House. Clearly I was really disappointed to see experienced riders like Anthony Brown, Drogo Michie or Gary Inman crashing heavily in their respective race series. But again the DTRA overall mood, sunny weather and spectators support definitely helped me to keep concentrated and focused on the races. Geoff Cain and Guy « Bonzorro » Williams positive vibes and smiles pushed me ahead to ride the best I can.
I was really impressed by all the kids from the Youth Junior series. They gave all and never gave up. Also my buddy Christophe Decombard did very well with his home made DR 600 shed built flat tracker winning all the Rookie races and an awesome win in his final.
Respect to Nick Ashley who came straight from Japan where he was riding for Hells on Wheels to take part on its 500 Cheney Triumph. I just can’t wait to meet everybody again to enjoy these good times together.
Many thanks again to all spectators who came to support. I was really impressed and pleased to meet so many classic british bikes enthusiasts.
See you maybe for the round 3 at Scunthorpe Speedway on june 15th. I’m not sure to be able to join as we have many local events where I should be. The schedule is tough for this year! »
